Ashworth High School

Ashworth High School offers a full curriculum for grades 9 through 12 and also individual courses for students who need to receive a few credits in order to graduate. The school focuses on online study, but it also delivers print-based correspondence courses. Teachers are available by email, instant messaging or phone, depending on the method of study.

All courses are self-paced and students have the freedom to learn when, where and how they want. Ashworth is ideal for independent, motivated students who would rather set their own pace of study and schedule. Students even get to decide when to take their exams. Those who prefer a more structured learning environment might struggle because of the lack of deadlines. It’s also worth noting that Ashworth does not offer any elective courses – all students in the same high school diploma program study the exact same set of courses.

About Ashworth High School

Ashworth High School is a respected worldwide leader in comprehensive, nationally accredited online education. Ashworth has unified the three schools formerly known as Professional Career Development Institute, Ashworth College and James Madison High School under one educational institution. The result? Expanded course offerings, far-reaching upgrades in support services and instructional enhancements.

Each month, students from all around the globe take the initiative to further advance themselves by enrolling at Ashworth. Starting in 2007, Ashworth began a tradition of celebrating and honoring the achievements of those graduates in a yearly graduation ceremony in Atlanta.

Ashworth High School Accreditation

Ashworth College is nationally accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC), and this high school is also regionally accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). This accreditation is your assurance of receiving a high quality education and a learning experience that is comparable to what you would receive in a traditional college or university.

Ashworth High School Programs

Ashworth offers two diploma tracks: a general high school diploma program for students who simply want to complete their high school coursework and a college preparatory program for students who plan to go on to further study. Both programs are self-paced and include courses in English, math, science, social studies and technology. The main differences are the number of credits required (16 for general diploma, 22 for college prep) and the cost (see below).

Students can choose between online and print-based correspondence study. The school also offers individual courses for students who need to make up missed credits at their own high schools.

Ashworth High School Admissions

Ashworth accepts students year-round with no entrance exam. Applicants must be at least 14 years old, and anyone under 18 must have the approval of a parent or guardian to enroll. Otherwise, the only prerequisites are a down payment and a computer that meets the school’s system requirements. Those who choose to study online will be able to start their coursework within 1 to 2 days of enrolling.

Students who have already completed some high school may be able to apply that work toward their diploma at Ashworth. During the enrollment process, a student advisor will determine which credits are transferable. For more information on the school’s admission requirements, contact Ashworth directly.
