About Central California Connections Academy

Central California Connections operates under the umbrella of the nation-wide Connections Academy online educational network. Since Connections Academy’s founding in 2001, it has provided an integrated form of free public school that students attend from home.

Central California Connections Academy puts a particular focus on connecting its students: not just to academics, but to other students and families. Family members are encouraged to take an active role in the dynamic learning community where students interact with teachers and classmates in real-time, online classrooms. Online students have the opportunity to meet classmates face-to-face at school-sponsored clubs, activities, and field trips throughout California, and engage in lively discussions and project collaborations with other students online. Teachers are always available to provide support through telephone sessions and individualized online sessions.

Central California Connections Academy Programs

All Connections students are required to take core classes in math, science, language arts, and social studies, and have the option of extensive electives, including foreign languages, digital technology, and journalism. Much like a brick and mortar high school, Connections Academy offers its students field trips and interactive clubs, Honors and AP courses, SAT preparation courses, and personalized support for students who need extra help. Connections Academy places an emphasis on college preparatory material, and gives students the option of supplementing the high school course with college-credit classes.
