About Clonlara School

Since 1967, Clonlara has pursued a student-centered curriculum, in contrast to the average academic model. The Home Based Education Program, created in 1979, was created to replicate the successes of Clonlara’s campus school in the home.

Clonlara’s approach to education is based on the individual processes that inspires each student to learn. A student’s academic, intellectual, and emotional state are all taken into account when planning a course of education. Clonlara advisers are certified teachers with experience in alternative education and/or homeschooling. The advisers communicate with learners every step of the way, suggesting learning resources tailored to each student, providing support, and guiding the documentation of learning so that appropriate credits are earned and applied to transcripts.

Clonlara School Accreditation

Clonlara School is accredited by the North Central Association (NCA) and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA).

Clonlara School Programs

The difference between Clonlara’s Home Based Education Program and conventional school is that the usual textbook-based courses are not regarded as the only worthwhile method to earning credit. Clonlara students may choose from a variety of ways to complete high school credit. For example, students may choose to earn high school credits by completing an internship or apprenticeship or taking a work-study course. Custom-made academic plans combine a formal “school” approach to subjects with a flexible approach using non-conventional resources. Upon completion of schooling, Clonlara issues a private school diploma to the graduate.
