The Hoosier Academy, a hybrid school authorized by Ball State University, ignites the minds of students in grades K-12. Hoosier Academy is a tuition-free, online public school that students attend from home. Enrolled high school students work together at a collective pace with other students and a state-certified teacher. Students are offered monthly networking opportunities through various events and outings, enabling the entire school community to keep in close contact. The program is open to most Indiana students.

About Hoosier Academy – Indianapolis

As a public hybrid charter school, Hoosier Academies provides the structure, administrative support, oversight, accountability, and state testing required of all Indiana public schools, in addition to providing individualized learning. Hoosier Academies operates two separate Learning Centers. The Indianapolis Learning Center serves students in grades K-11, while the Muncie Learning Center serves K-8.

In a hybrid school, students enjoy and benefit from traditional, face-to-face instruction with a state-certified teacher for more than 50% of their overall weekly instruction. The remainder of the weekly instruction is facilitated off-site with a Learning Coach. The unique blend of traditional brick-and-mortar schooling and online learning of a hybrid school provides students the opportunity to learn without limits.

Hoosier’s K¹² high school course catalog is robust, offering more than 130 core, elective, and Advanced Placement courses. Math, language arts, science, and history courses are offered in multiple versions to meet the needs of diverse learners with diverse goals. Up to four levels of world languages are offered as well. Students can chart their own course, choosing from among the four levels of courses to match their aptitude and goals.
