Humanities and Sciences Academy

The Humanities and Sciences High School provides a rigorous accelerated academic program in world languages, language arts, literature, social studies, mathematics and natural sciences. These disciplines integrate the state academic content and learning standards and are based on the College Board’s Advanced Placement curriculum as well as The Great Books of the Western World. All courses are taught by highly qualified, certified instructors using shared inquiry, cooperative learning and technology. Instruction takes place in small groups and one to one.

About Humanities and Sciences Academy

The International Commerce High School provides a rigorous accelerated academic program to students in grades 9-12. Competency examinations are used as a placement assessment device on the first day a student enters the High School. Then, at the end of each course, the student must take the pertinent section of the competency examination in order to assess proficiency and to help in the assigning of a grade for the course. Finally, in order to graduate, each student must pass all sections of the competency examination

Upon completion of the course of study, the Academy will pay for the General Educational Development tests for students 18 years of age or older for occupational program or college admission. The Academy also pays for American College Testing (ACT), Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) examinations upon completion of the college preparatory course of study.
