About Liahona Preparatory Academy

Liahona’s Distance Education Program is the largest Latter Day Saints-based Junior High and High School distance program in the nation. Liahona students spend about three or four hours a day, four days a week, watching classes and completing assignments. Classes are filmed live at Liahona Academy in Pleasant Grove, Utah. The classes are available online approximately one week after they are filmed. The week of classes may be watched at any time during this period. The pace of learning can be adjusted to accommodate family vacations, illness, or other scheduling disturbances.

Students from the Academy and Distance Education program often develop close friendships. To provide a social outlet, all students are asked to fill out “Getting to Know You” questions within the digital schoolroom. This information provides a forum for students to meet and develop friendships. Distance Education students may correspond with academy students and staff by phone, mail, or email. All Liahona Distance Education students are invited to join academy students and staff at the annual Fall Youth Conference.
