Missouri Virtual Instruction Program

Missouri Virtual Instruction Program offers virtual online courses for students statewide. Students can take an entire course from any Internet‐connected computer, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Missouri Virtual is a K‐12 program. Missouri Virtual’s mission is to offer Missouri students equal access to a wide range of high quality courses, flexibility in scheduling, and interactive online learning that is neither time nor place dependent. The program is open to all Missouri public school students. Privately educated and home schooled learners can take courses for a fee. Missouri Virtual is not a school and does not offer a complete high school diploma program online.

About Missouri Virtual Instruction Program

Missouri Virtual students are guided through their courses by Missouri certified teachers.
Courses are delivered over the Internet. To assure student success with virtual learning, a variety
of web‐based, technology resources, such as streaming audio and video, computer animations,
email, newsgroups, chat rooms, bulletin boards, and digital portfolios, are provided.
Teachers communicate with students and parents on a regular basis via phone, email,
online chats, instant messaging, and discussion forums.
