National University Virtual High School Programs

All National University courses are equivalent to a semester-length high school class and can be completed in as few as four or as many as 16 weeks. Three course varieties are available; all courses include the same curriculum elements and vary only by the degree to which the instructor interacts with and supports students as they complete the course.

In the Guided Study course, teacher-to-student and student-to-student interaction occurs frequently, and the format uses almost exclusively asynchronous communication features. In the Advanced Placement course, teacher-to-student and student-to-student interaction occurs frequently via both synchronous and asynchronous communication features. The instructor also conducts an exam prep module prior to the AP exam date. Finally, the Traditional course features frequent teacher-to-student and student-to-student interaction in a format that uses both synchronous and asynchronous communication features.
