About North Dakota Center for Distance Education

North Dakota Center for Distance Education provides a delivery system of distance education curricula in a manner consistent with sound educational practices. Teachers and faculty are responsive to the needs of online high school and middle school students of all ages, while offering accredited online distance learning classes free of time and place constraints. Students receive instruction through comprehensive course materials, individualized teacher comments, computer-assisted instruction and online classes. They are taught one-on-one by licensed teachers, allowing each individual to work at his or her own pace.

Although North Dakota is a public distance education high school, the staff works closely with many students who have alternative needs. The independent study model of instruction lends itself well to home schooled students and working adults, since it is self-paced and individualized. Additionally, credit recovery courses are available for students who have taken the course once already and have failed.
