About Wisconsin Virtual Academy

Wisconsin Virtual makes it easy for parents to become active participants in their child’s public school education. It is designed to create working partnerships among motivated parents and experienced, Wisconsin licensed teachers to provide a learning environment truly focused on the individual needs of each student.

Wisconsin Virtual is designed to accommodate a variety of learning styles and allows students to work at their own pace. Recognizing that online learning is not necessarily the right choice for every learner, Wisconsin staff work with parents to determine the best approach for each family. Placement testing ensures proper placement suitable to each learner’s level of experience. Teachers and counselors help determine the right pace for each child to move through the curriculum.

Students who enroll receive a complete curriculum, lesson planning tools, books and instructional materials, and the use of the necessary technology. Teachers monitor students’ progress, attendance, and work samples, and provide instruction, suggestions, and support. Wisconsin Virtual outings provide a means to create a community of learners. The outings are focused on supporting the academic curriculum, providing opportunities for socializing with teachers and peers, and promoting a sense of civic duty.
